The Santa Claus Blog shares Christmas articles, music, and videos. This page explains the information that may be processed when you visit the site.
Information you provide
The public site does not offer visitor accounts or comments. If you contact us using details on our Contact us page, we may use the information you send to answer your message. Please avoid sending sensitive information or personal information about children.
Letter from Santa
A parent or guardian can create a printable Letter from Santa by entering their first name and email address. We save those two details in a private contact list. The parent also enters a child's first name or nickname, one short sentence and optional personal details to create the letter. Those child details are used to make the letter and are not saved in the contact list. We count how many letters are made, downloaded and opened for printing without adding a child's details to those counts.
Email delivery is currently off. The letter is unlocked for download on the page after the parent submits their name and email. We do not send an email or verify that the address belongs to them, so we mark these contact entries as unverified. Entering an address does not sign the parent up for marketing emails. The printable PDF is generated in the browser; the offline request record holds the email address and letter type for up to 48 hours, after which it is removed during subsequent request cleanup. The parent contact remains in our private list until deleted.
Removal requests
To ask us to remove your parent contact details, visit Privacy request form and enter the same email address you used for the letter. We will review the request before deleting any contact entry. The request form asks for an email address only; please do not enter a child's name or other sensitive information.
Site operation
Our hosting service may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and requests so the site can be delivered and kept secure. The owner-only publishing editor uses sign-in information to restrict who can update the site.
Embedded media and external sites
Some pages contain embedded YouTube videos or a Spotify playlist. Loading or using those players connects your browser to those providers, which may process information under their own privacy policies. Links to other sites, including shop links, take you to services we do not control.
Advertising and cookies
The site supports Google AdSense advertising. When ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show, measure, and personalize ads, subject to their settings and applicable requirements. You can manage cookies in your browser and review Google’s advertising privacy information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Your choices and questions
You can choose not to play embedded media, follow external links, or contact us. Browser settings may help you manage cookies. Contest entries and email list
If you enter a contest, we save the name, email address, and country you provide, the contest you entered, and the time of entry. The entry form states that submitting also joins our email list. We do not currently verify addresses or send marketing emails, so an entry does not prove ownership of an address. Each email may enter each contest once. If the same address enters multiple contests, we keep one newsletter contact for that email and record each contest entry separately. Newsletter contacts can be exported by the owner; addresses remain unverified and email sending is currently off. Entries are available to the site owner and can be exported as a CSV. If you win, we may publish the winner name you provided and a masked version of your email address on our Winners page.
